Happy Feet. Happy Harvest.

Every spring the thought of planting overwhelms me! I LOVE new, green, bright life! I enjoy planting, watering, weeding the whole "taking care of" process. It is relaxing to me in the early morning or late afternoon to go outside and water, prune, pluck and admire blooms.

I have always wanted a garden. My father growing up had a pretty cool garden I remember the lettuce tasting like dirt but the beans were amazing! Mostly I remember his diligence with planting and how neatly the rows lined up and that you can actually put seeds in the ground, have shoots pop up and life grow out of that! AMAZING!! I would like to think that maybe I inherited a little bit of his green thumb or at least the willingness to try.

Spring is always an up in the air time for my family. Being a Coaches wife there is always the looming possibility of moving. I hesitate every year to plant in the ground. By the time I know whether we are coming or going we are well into summer and beyond seedtime and into what should be harvest. This year is the same as any other so instead of the ground I took to pots! Pots can be moved so just in case we are called away our harvest can come with us! It's what I call a win-win!

I have started small with just some herbs but Pia and I had a wonderful morning all to ourselves so we took to our pots and planted our garden now lets watch it grow!

Little bits of this little bits of that.

Hoping for success, smells and good eats!

Go COUGARS!

This is my son's second year to play tball! The first year was a lot of, "I'm tired I need a snack." This year though he shows a lot more interest during the game and has more of a natural willingness to play. He is part of the Cougars. A group of 4 and 5 year old boys with a great Coach Brad. The Cougars had their first game, everyone had a chance to hit three times and field three times. It was long but Oh So Cute to see our little guys out there all lined up playing the part, especially my little guy!

Where my husband wishes he paid more attention during the game, I think it's funny that he uses his glove as a face mask and pretends to be in slow motion when the ball goes past him. ( He really does! He holds an amazing effort pose glove out, tongue out, leg up, reaching for the ball when the play is over frozen. It's slow motion) Annoying as it may be to a sports loving Dad I think it is hilarious I'm his Mom I laugh at all his jokes ;)

and her baby!

wouldn't be a birthday without the good morning cupcake!

My baby girl and husband have birthday's within 24 ours of each other. I have to admit I haven't quite figured out how to do the double birthday. We don't eat enough cake to buy two separate but I feel terrible having my husband blow out candles and bite into a half eaten one! This year was kind of a jumble and I have to say I pulled it off but it wasn't good. Next year I will have to really think out a better plan. All I can say is let it happen now when my baby is too little to care! My Mom came in town the evening of Sophie's birthday and I had been running ragged all week and didn't really even plan very unlike me and yes I was disappointed in my ability to not be able to pull it off last minute but again she is really to little to care.

She did get fabulous presents, she did go out to eat, she did have her family with her, she did have candles on her cake and she DID get a cupcake for breakfast. So maybe it wasn't all that bad.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEET PIA WE LOVE YOU!!!!
